Dear Denise and Friends of Nancy,

 

I visited Nancy yesterday for a few hours sitting with her, telling her a Fairy Tale (The Donkey), singing and being as present as possible. Julie Fellum was with her helping. She and Julie have had a long friendship and had discussed many years ago that they would be there for each other and help with the passing of whomever came first. Nancy's 3 adult children and Carlos (her partner and the father of Francis her youngest son about 21)...

Artist Completing Nature

"Both thinkers (Schopenhauer and Goethe) believe that there are intensions in nature that she can neither bring completely to expression nor attain in her creations, at least not with the details. The creative artist tries to recognize these intentions in nature; he tries to combine them and represent them in a picture. One now comprehends Goethe, who says that art is a revelation of nature's secret intentions and that the creative artist reveals the continuation of nature.

Hello, Here are some memories of October Gathering at Mary's in Santa Rosa the first Sunday of the month.

Inspirational Poem (shared by Maria)

This poem came to my attention May 2003 when the US was beginning a war campaign and I was trying to advance myself as a Nurturing Artist.  It touched a cord that gave me courage to get going and also expresses to me an essence of Nurturing Arts.  When this year 2014 Maria wrote back and included this poem (passed on from another US NArtist) I was deeply effected so wish to share it here:

Notes from the October 2013 meeting

Next meeting is Sunday Nov. 3rd at Mary Bowen's and Marcia and Denise will present out of inspiration of 6th grade.

December meeting is the 8th (second Sunday rather than first) location unknown - anyone? Presenters Rika and Barbara. Usually we meet up at 10:00AM with art beginning 10:30.

Some requirement to bring materials may be called for and a potluck sharing.
